ARHA keeps the issues of reproductive health, population and development on the agenda through regular participation in, attendance at and monitoring of various international and United Nations conferences and seminars.

ARHA also runs various conferences, forums and seminars, please see our Events page for further details.
Some recent events include:

  • Roundtable Discussions in Parliament House, Canberra, on "Sexual and Reproductive Health and the Millennium Development Goals - the Way Forward" (held by the Parliamentary Group on Population and Develpment (PGPD), with PGPD Secretariat services provided by ARHA. Two Roundtables held, 14 August and 11 September 2006.
  • IPPF NGO Forum jointly run with Sexual Health & Family Planning Australia March 2006
  • Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS in Papua New Guinea Forum, October 2005
  • ARHA NGO Forum with UNFPA's Director Thoraya Obaid March 2005

United Nations Meetings

ARHA monitors and joins with other civil society organisations in providing and contributing to policy development and commentary on the key United Nations meetings of relevance to Sexual and Reproductive Health issues.

ARHA also has NGO Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations which allows ARHA to be invited to and attend international conferences convened by the United Nations as well as speak and circulate statements at subsidiary bodies meetings.
